The TS-24B Safety ATEX Torch is a primary cell powered light designed for use in hazardous environments, where safety and reliability are of utmost importance. This torch is certified with the code II 2GD Ex eb ib IIB T4 Gb Ex tb IIIC T95°C Db, indicating its suitability for Zones 1 and 2 for gas and Zones 21 and 22 for dust, encompassing gas groups IIA and IIB, and dust groups IIIA, IIIB, and IIIC. The torch's maximum surface temperature for gas is classified as T4, and it can operate within an ambient temperature range of -10°C to +40°C/+55°C. Its construction includes an impact-resistant thermoplastic enclosure that is electrostatically non-hazardous, and a polycarbonate lens that is both scratch and chemical resistant. 
The medium spot beam is produced by a xenon-filled filament bulb, part number TP-404, with a rating of 2.4V and 0.7A, delivering an output of 16 lumens at nominal voltage and a life expectancy of 50 hours. For power, it utilizes two R20/LR20 primary cells according to IEC60086 standards, providing a voltage of 3V and a light duration of up to 12 hours. The torch's ingress protection rating of IP67 signifies its dust tight seal and protection against water immersion. It weighs 150g without cells and 450g with cells included.
 
The T4 models of this torch are noted for their exceptional light output, thanks to advanced, long-life xenon bulbs set within a high-quality parabolic reflector. This design, coupled with alkaline cell approval, ensures up to 12 hours of continuous light. There is also a T6 variant that is suitable for any Zone 1 or 2 atmospheres, offering optimal light output in its temperature class for a duration of 5 hours.
 
The torch's design is compact and ergonomic, facilitating easy single-handed operation even when wearing gloves. The body of the torch is made from thermoplastic resins selected for their high strength and chemical resistance, ensuring durability and impact resistance, even in sub-zero temperatures. Additional features include a rubber-armoured lens ring and end cap for improved grip and shock protection. 
For convenience, the torch is designed to allow straightforward battery and bulb replacement. Right-angle models feature a replaceable high-strength thermoplastic belt clip for hands-free operation. Each torch is supplied with a wrist strap and clip ring, enhancing its portability and ease of use in various industrial settings.
