The WOLFLITE® H-251MK2 Handlamp is a highly reliable safety device designed for use in hazardous environments, specifically in Zones 1 and 2 which are classified as areas where gases, vapors, and mists with an explosive atmosphere are likely to occur. The handlamp is certified with BASEEFA Ex 81142, ensuring compliance with strict safety standards. Its construction from durable polypropylene and a toughened glass lens of 6mm thickness makes it robust against the rigors of industrial use. The handlamp features a spot beam type, powered by a Krypton filled filament bulb, part number H-26P, which provides an output of 80 lumens at 4.1 volts and has a life expectancy of 100 hours. 
 
The power source of the handlamp is a rechargeable sealed lead acid battery, part number H-16E, with a voltage of 4 volts and a capacity of 5 ampere-hours, capable of up to 500 recharge cycles. This battery allows for a light duration of approximately 4-5 hours per charge. The handlamp is designed with ingress protection rating IP54, indicating a level of protection against dust ingress sufficient to prevent the device from malfunctioning, as well as protection against water splashes from all directions. Weighing 1.5 kilograms including the battery, the handlamp is relatively lightweight for its robust build and capabilities. It is compatible with chargers C-251 HV or C-251 LV, which are designed to be user-friendly and low maintenance, featuring LEDs that indicate the state of charge. 
 
The handlamp's design includes safety features such as an interlock mechanism to prevent internal access while in use, short circuit protection via a ceramic fuse, and a magnetically operated, hermetically sealed Reed Switch to avoid open internal sparking. The WOLFLITE® H-251MK2 Handlamp is suitable for a variety of applications, including the petrochemical and offshore industries, firefighting, gas and water distribution, and other scenarios where a potentially explosive atmosphere may occur.
